The wait wasn't too long on a Saturday night. The hostess said about 20 mins and she was pretty accurate. I like that all the proceeds on their cocktail is going straight to help the fire in la. The food was good as always. Their lychee green tea wasn't too sweet. Wish it had some extra ice.
Too many kbbq spots focus on quantity over quality. Baekjeoung is quality from their service staff like Gwanho and their manager Edwin. He takes the extra time to connect with the customers. Definitely recommend.
Honestly have eaten here many times so this review is long overdue. Me and my husband have always craved ayce kbbq since we were younger but as years passed, eating ayce makes us feel icky after so this is now our go to kbbq spot. Getting the small beef combo for two people is the perfect portion size. From the looks of it, it may seem small but when you start grubbin', you realize it's just enough with all the other sides you get (i.e., corn cheese, egg, stew, banchan). Everything goes so well together and you don't feel TOO full after. The meat is high quality and the servers are trained to grill them well. Never really had a bad experience here tbh and we've eaten here many times. We usually go for early dinner to skip the line. This place gets PACKED so plan accordingly if you don't wanna wait. Highly recommend, def worth the hype in my opinion even tho it's a little pricey. You're definitely paying for quality.
Our food server, Gwanho, is so thoughtful and professional. He started greeting us with a warm smile and made our dining experience memorable. He realized my kids were loving their cheese corn. He is attuned to his customers. He refilled the cheese corn when it was done. My kids had a big smile on their faces. As a parent, one of the best and valuable service is when the food server makes kids feel welcome, belong, and valued. That food server is Gwanho. Ask for him next time you come to Baekjeong to get similar fantastic dining experience!
Baekjong has maintained the quality I'm familiar with over the years I have been a patron. Where I believe the times are catching up is with the portions. Shrink-flation is definitely occurring here. The large beef combo with a side of pork belly satiated the hunger but I wasn't remotely full. Approaching a few hundred dollar bill after tip for a party of three just isn't worth it anymore. It's definitely not as busy as it used to be on a weekend night and the value proposition is definitely what its root cause is. That being said the interior has stayed the same feeling much like Korea and having the waiters cook for you. The musics loud and atmosphere is what you expect with kbbq.
